The 2013 Central Florida Careers in Science Symposium held at Sanford-Burnham’s Lake Nona campus will provide information through engaging panel discussions on various traditional and non-traditional scientific career options including academia, industry and biotech, science education, and technology transfer to postdoctoral fellows, research staff, and graduate students at Universities and Research Institutions throughout the state of Florida. The symposium will provide several opportunities to network with your scientific peers in central Florida and have a workshop on determining your career path. The program will feature Dr. Joan Lakoski from the University of Pittsburgh as our keynote speaker. Dr. Lakoski's research efforts focus on neuropharmacology of the aging process as well as mentoring in research.
Attendees will receive information that will assist them in making informed decisions regarding their future career path. In order to facilitate the afternoon sessions, attendees are asked to submit any specific questions they may currently have along with their registration form. Registration is free, but mandatory to achieve an accurate total of attendees for the breakfast, lunch, and evening reception.
