Brenda Phillips' Bio
Dr. Brenda Phillips is a board certified specialist of veterinary medical oncology and is proud to be part of the medical team at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She has authored book chapters and scientific articles encompassing many aspects of oncology, and has lectured at numerous scientific conferences. She served on the board of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation for 8 years, including 2 years as president of the board.
Dr. Phillips has special interests in the use of diverse chemotherapy protocols, immunotherapy, and investigation of novel therapeutics for the treatment of her patients. She has the distinction of promoting the concept of clinical investigation in private practice by leading and participating in numerous clinical trials since her arrival in San Diego 15 years ago. Due to this participation, many private specialty practices around the country are now involved in collaborative trials, generating knowledge at an ever increasing pace. Brenda takes pride in the fact that she is able to offer a variety of treatment options for her patients, making the well-being of her patients and their families her utmost concern. She also places special emphasis on education of her pet families about cancer so was pleased to join the SBP community advisory board for the opportunity to assist in education of the general public about cancer and cancer research.
Brenda shares her home with a fabulous Golden Retriever, “Leo” and is an avid polo player.
