Laboratory Animal Resources (Lake Nona)

Supporting the transgenic breeding program

 

The laboratory animal resources facility, which is managed by Charles River, consists of a specific pathogen free (SPF) rodent facility housing mice and rats. 

In addition to general husbandry, the staff supports the transgenic breeding program and performs many minor procedures. Veterinary and managerial support, as well as technical and animal husbandry support is provided for all users. The Cardiometabolic Phenotyping Core facility, located in a dedicated space within the animal care facility, offers a full range of services for both cardiovascular and metabolic phenotyping in mice and rats. The facility is AAALAC accredited.
